According to the latest report data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), photovoltaic power generation accounted for 59% of all new power generation during this period. In the first half of 2024, all large-scale ground technologies added a total of 20.2GW, an increase of 3.6GW over the same period last year. EIA expects new installed capacity in the second half of 2024 to be 42.6GW, of which 25GW will come from large-scale ground photovoltaics.<\/p>

By the end of 2024, the newly installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation will reach 37GW, which will set a record for the highest installed capacity in a single year and double the 18.8GW in 2023. The EIA’s valuation is only 1GW different from the forecasts made by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Wood Mackenzie earlier this year. At the household storage level, it is estimated that the new installed capacity in the United States will reach 13.2GWh by 2025, and the cumulative household storage installed capacity will increase rapidly from 0.51GWh in 2019 to 15.79GWh in 2025. The CAGR from 2022 to 2025 is expected to be close to 110%. The household storage market has promising prospects.<\/p>

California is the first region in the United States to promote clean energy. It has many of the world’s largest solar power plants. In 2021, New energy accounted for 37% of power generation and it is also one of the largest distributed photovoltaic markets in the United States. In 2018, the California Energy Commission required new homes below four floors to install rooftop photovoltaics. The installed capacity of electrochemical energy storage has also increased nearly 20 times from 250MW in 2019 to 5,000MW in 2023. In 2021, California accounted for about half of the installed capacity of household storage in the United States.
